This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotation is being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This request for quotation (RFQ), number 98X510037, is for the purchase and delivery of a one (1) year subscription to 14 Electronic Reference Library (ERL) CD-ROM databases and three (3) non-ERL CD-ROM databases through a wide-area networking system. The Government believes Silverplatter Information, 100 Ridge Drive, Norwood, MA 02062, is uniquely qualified to satisfy this requirement and intends to acquire the items described here-in on a sole source basis. Solicitation documents, provisions and clauses herein are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-05. The Standard Industrial Classification code is 7379 with small business size standard of $18.0M. The Contractor shall provide the ERL databases for access by three (3) library sites, Parklawn Health Library, Rockville MD; the NCHS Staff Research Library, Hyattsville, MD; and the AHCPR Information Resource Center, Rockville, MD.
