SPECIAL NOTE: THIS PROJECT IS NOT FUNDED AND AWARD IS SUBJECT TO FUNDING APPROVAL. On or about 8/10/98, this office will issue a Request for Proposal for a building expansion at Vadnais Heights MN Post Office. Proposals will be opened on 9/8/98 at 3:00 PM. THIS IS NOT A PUBLIC PROPOSAL OPENING. The value of the work is estimated to be between $2.35 Million and $2.75 Million. Description of the work is: The project consists of a 20,000 sq. ft. enclosed carrier vehicle garage addition and a 2,000 sq. ft. loading dock addition to an existing office warehouse building. The entire 24,000 sq. ft. existing building will be remodeled to include a lobby, offices, storage rooms, electrical/communications/mechanical room, men's and women's locker rooms and toilets, carrier vestibule, and a criminal investigative office. The work will also include the demolition of existing interior partitions and other miscellaneous demolition. The site work includes parking lot modifications and expansion, including asphalt and concrete paving, curbs, ramps, stairs, walks, and retaining walls. The site is bounded on the west by McMenemy Street. The contractor will be required to commence work within 10 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed and complete within 300 calendar days. Liquidated damages will be accessed. Performance and payment bonds will be required. There will be a NON-REFUNDABLE FEE FOR PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS.
