PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE PRE SOLICITATION NOTICE INFORMATION PAGE PSN # The Defense Industrial Supply Center is intending to issue a solicitation for an estimated 10,000 fastener NSNs in the 53 stock classes. The purpose of the acquisition would be to support the Coast Guard's requirements at numerous installlations located in Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Washington and Utah. In addition the acquisition would support Air Force and Army activities located in Alaska. The proposed award instrument will be a firm fixed price, DVD ( Direct Vendor Delivery) contract. The contract will have a one year base period and will include an option for four additional years. This notice is being issued in order to identify potential sources of supply and to obtain feedback from industry as to the feasibility of the proposed acquisition, specifically issues in the areas of pricing and delivery. Pricing: As stated above the solicitation's requirements would encompass an estimated 44,000 NSNs with some whose historical demand has been for minimal quantities at best. DISC is looking for comments from industry in regard to the possibilities of pricing a requirement of this multitude, or if not feasible, alternate strategies or techniques that may be implemented in order to accomplish the task . Delivery: The Coast Guard has expressed a desire to obtain a delivery timeframe of seven days for routine requirements and as low as twenty four hours for urgent requirements. Comments are requested as to the feasibility of these requirements. Note: This is not an Invitation For Bid ( IFB ), a Request For Proposal ( RFP ) or a Request For Quote ( RFQ ).
