Contracting Section, 503/668-1621 Description: The purpose of this
contract is to produce quantities of grass seed (true to genotype) from
one seed lot of Government-furnished California Brome (Bromus
Carinatus, BRAC), on the Hood River Ranger District on the Mt. Hood
National Forest, Oregon. Seed shall be sown in the Fall of 1998, in
order to produce seed crop in 1999. The Contractor must be a qualified
grass seed producer/manager with a minimum of five (5) seasons of
experience in grass seed production (season being defined as from
Spring to Fall of the same year.) Also, Contractor must be located
within 400 air-mile radius of Mt. Hood, Oregon. The Government intends
to award for production year 1999, plus two (2) optional years. All
phases of production, where applicable, must meet State Certification
Standards. This Solicitation is a Request For Quotes (RFQ) using
Simplified Acquisition procedures. The estimated price range for the
initial year 1999, is between S25,000 and S50,000. See Numbered Notes
