Marshall, Contracting Officer (650) 244-2673 This is a sources sought for Small Businesses interested in constructing a Weapons Handling Improvement Area. The work includes the new construction of one earth-covered concrete magazine and 5 pre-engineered metal buildings. Renovation work includes enlarging an existing masonary office building and incorporating wider doors in the front head wall of 5 existing concrete magazines. Existing Building 472 lightning protection, paved access roads, parking lot, and a truck holding area, and incidental related work. Estimated Cost Between: $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. Contract duration is approximately 18 months. This synopsis is for information and planning purposes only, and does not constitute a solicitation, and shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government. Interested small businesses shall provide their qualifications to include: (A) Contractor's experience working on projects dealing with ordnance handling and assembly facilities. (B) working as the prime contractor coordinating work on multiple sites on a compressed schedule.(C) Familiarity with NAVSEA OP 5, Vol 1, Ammunition and Explosives Ashore -- Safety Regulations for Handling Storing, Production, Renovation and Shipping. Emphasis on the installation requirements related to the facility lightning protection grounding system. (D) Bonding Capacity.
