Mueller (228)688-1706 This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; requests for quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-05. This procurement is not a small business set-aside. There is only one line item: 0001 L-band Satellite Service, billed monthly in arrears, beginning August 1, 1998, for an initial period of 4 months. The following requirements apply: One full-period voice circuit through a satellite providing L-band service; must operate through Westinghouse Series 1000 L-band satellite telephones with both voice and packet-switched data communications; must support a 4-wire dedicated landline circuit interface at the satellite provider's earth station; FCC licensed to provide services in the areas of Houston, Texas, the Mississippi Gulf Coast and the waters of the Gulf of Mexico; capable of being remotely transferred from primary equipment to secondary/stand-by Westinghouse Series 1000 satellite telephone.
