Agency (EPA) has a requirement for translation services of EPA
documents from English to Spanish. The Contractor shall translate
English documents, provided by EPA, to Spanish. These documents may
include EPA technical reports and studies, pamphlets, technical
bulletins, Internet material and similar information on air quality and
air pollution technology. The contractor will be provided with a
printed copy and an electronic version (WordPerfect 6.1 format) of each
document to be translated. At the minimum, translations performed under
this acquisition within the 6-month base period and each 6-month option
period shall total at least 5,000 words for each period. The total word
count for all documents translated under this acquisition shall not
exceed 125,000 words for each period. Translation guidelines will be
provided. Offerors will be evaluated on (1) Their demonstrated ability
to provide this type of service. Offerors will be required to
translate a one-page samplewhich will be included with the Request for
Quotation (RFQ). Offerors shall also provide supporting documentation
that demonstrates their experience in translation of technical
documents on air quality and air pollution technology such as technical
reports and studies, pamphlets, technical bulletins and Internet
material; (2) Past performance. Offerors shall provide the name,
address and telephone number of three previously satisfied customers
within the last five years; and (3) Price. EPA anticipates the award of
a purchase order with a firm fixed price per word and a pre-established
minimum and maximum number of words. The anticipated period of
performance includes a base period of six months with three(3)
six-month options. This procurement is a total small business set-aside
and the SIC code number is 7389 with a size standard of $5M in average
annual receipts over the preceding three fiscal years. This
procurement is not a follow-on. The Request for Quotation (RFQ) is
expected to be issued approximately7/23/98 and quotations will be due
approximately 7/30/98. The RFQ and amendments will be available via the
Internet World Wide Web at http://www.epa.gov/oam/rtp_cmd. Firms are
encouraged to access the RFQ and amendments via the Internet. If you
will be obtaining a copy of the RFQ via Internet, it will be your
responsibility to frequently check the same site where the RFQ is
posted for any ensuing amendments. Firms who do not have the capability
to obtain the RFQ from the Internet, may submit a written request for
a copy of the RFQ from the contact point at the address above; however,
only those firms who do NOT have the capability to obtain the RFQ from
the Internet should request a hard copy. Copies will not be sent to
those firms who have Internet access. If you request a copy of the RFQ,
you will receive amendments by mail, unless you notify us otherwise.
Telephone and fax requests will not be honored. Only one copy shall be
sent to a corporate entity, regardless of the number of requests from
one or moredifferent geographic locations. All responsible sources may
submit a quotation which shall be considered by the Agency. See Note(s)
