The VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System, University Drive Division, Pittsburgh, PA 15240 has a requirement for 1.0 FTE locum tenens Anesthesiologist for the period 8/17/98 -- 9/30/98 working primarily between the hours of 7:00 A.M. -- 3:00 P.M Monday -- Friday. In addition, on-call coverage during time periods outside of normal working hours, weekends and holidays, will be rotated among 4.0 Anesthesiologists. The locum tenens Anesthesiologist must be board certified by the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS). In addiiton to the management of patients undergoing general and regional anesthesia, the Anesthesiologist will have general privileges as follows: 1) Thoracic surgery anesthesia, 2) Management of cardiac and respiratory resuscitation problems, 3) Insertion and use of invasive monitoring lines -- arterial, central venous and PA catheters, and 4) Provide professional direction to CRNAs, techicians, medical and dental students, student nurse anesthetists, and anesthesia residents.
