The Social Security Administration (SSA) Office of Acquisition and Grants is seeking a Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) comprehensive acquisition software package that provides a graphical user interface (GUI) solution which runs on a Windows NT server, servicing Windows NT end users. Functionality needs to service Acquisition Planning, Purchase Requests, Workload Management by Contract Specialists and Managers, Acquisition Tracking and Management, Contracts Management, an interface to the Commerce Business Daily (CBD), utilization of emerging technologies for transactions traveling between SSA acquisition/financial components and vendors, electronic interfaces with other automated systems (eg., Purchase Card, Financial, Administrative), an interface with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), along with Small and Disadvantaged Business (SADBUS) support. SSA is currently utilizing a character based DOS application to service its acquisition needs. The existing software runs on a Netware server, supporting LAN and WAN clients at headquarters, as well as, in field offices (FOs). The SSA- FO WAN/LAN topology consists of Pentium Desktop PCs operating the Microsoft Office Suite, including Internet Explorer for Intranet/Internet Access and Netsoft NS Elite 3270 software for mainframe access. Any organization capable of providing this software is invited to submit information on their capabilities, pricing data and any other pertinent data within 15 days of this announcement. This is a request for information only. This is not a request for proposal (RFP). No contract award will be made on the basis of responses received; however, this information will be used in SSA's assessment of capable sources.
