This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. See note number 22. The Minerals Management Service (MMS) intends to place a change order to an existing contract MAR, Inc., 6110 Executive Boulevard, Suite 410, Rockville, MD 20852 for the procurement of replacement oil storage tanks at the Ohmsett Facility in Atlantic Highlands. NJ. MMS competitively awarded a contract for the operation and maintenance of the Ohmsett facility to MAR, Inc. The intended change order will replace all the oil storage tanks in the Ohmsett tank farm. The change order will consist of the purchase and installation of the four vertical and two horizontal 10,000 gal. storage tanks. MAR, Inc. maintains an access clearance to the facility, located on Naval Weapons Station Earle. MAR, Inc.'s specialized, expertise and previous experience with the operations and maintenance of this facility make them uniquely qualified to provide these services. No other contractor can perform this effort cost-effectively. Therefore, no other firm has the requisite knowledge to meet the above criteria. See Note 22. (0127)
