394-3693, Contract Specialist. The U.S. Army Research Laboratory (ARL)
requires scientific, engineering, technical and administrative support
to the U.S. ARL (Weapons and Materials Directorate) for studies,
technology demonstrators, development of technical documentation
packages, and prototype development. Areas of interest are: (A)
"Material and Support Systems" -- (1) Remanufacturing and Reclamation
(RE&R) which deals with a wide array of technology development in
equipment repair, rebuild and modernization efforts within the Army
industrial base base; (2) Advanced welding technology (e.g. friction
stir welding of armor for ground vehicles); (3) Sustainment
technologies (e.g. artificial intelligence and neural networks based
automated critical defects detection technology); (4) advanced sensors
manufacturing for process control and health monitoring; and (5) low
cost and rapid manufacturing of nanomaterials; (B) "Intelligent
Processing of Materials" -- (1) developing advanced structural
composite material processes/tools; (2) developing rapid prototyping
process tools; (3) advanced nondestructive evaluation and smart systems
technologies; and (4) advanced integrated manufacturing systems to
develop technologies which advance the application of concurrent
engineering, flexible manufacturing, and enterprise integration in the
DoD/industrial base; and (C) "Manufacturing Technology program
planning and support". Any contract(s) resulting from this solicitation
will include an organizational conflict of interest clause. The
anticipated period of performance is five years, i.e., task orders may
be issued for a period of five years after award. Technical expertise
is required in each of the following areas: Mechanical Engineer,
Knowledge Engineer, Metallurgical Engineer, Software Engineer,
Scientific Computer Programmer, Electrical Engineer, Fracture Mechanics
Engineer, Chemist, Stress Analysis Engineer, Hardware Design Engineer,
Manufacturing Engineer, Program Manager, Senior Engineer, Engineer,
Conference Coordinator, Assistant Conference Coordinator, Registration
Clerks, Industrial Specialist, Communication Specialist(s), Technical
Writer/Editor(s), Illustrator, Clerical/Word Processor(s), Technician
(Electronic), and Drafting. One or more offer(s) may be selected. This
proposed procurement is under full and open competition. Requests for
