(SSA) intends to issue a sole-source purchase order under the
Simplified Acquisition Procedures to VERTEK Inc., 11811 NE 1st Street,
Bellevue, WA for the acquisition of 30 copies of VERTEK's OASYS JOB
MATCH for Windows software. The software is required by SSA vocational
specialists to objectively define occupational goal/jobs, required
skills, education, aptitudes, temperaments and strengths and identify
occupational outlook and wages as specified in a PASS participants
vocational goal plan, as well as collect programmatic management
information. The software shall have the following functions that meet
SSA's minimum requirements: 1) display screens will allow the user to
"zero in" on or "point and click" to the information that is being
sought without having to "page or walk through" pre- programmed
screens; 2) will provide the user with access to the Dictionary of
Occupational Titles (DOT) which provides specific job definition
information, Occupational Outlook Handbook (OOH) which provides
information on the projected labor market demand for occupations listed
in the DOT and Standard Industry Codes (SIC) codes which allows the
user to determine the industry in which an occupation is most likely
found and occupational wage information by state; 3) will be able to
match a person's, knowledge, physical capacities and abilities (tested
and/or experiential/work history) to occupations using transferable
skills analysis; 4) will provide a side by side comparison of a
person's skill profile to the work requirements of any occupation to
determine how closely they match, and whether training would be
beneficial or whether it is an appropriate job goal for the PASS
participant; 5) will provide information on available
schools/colleges/training programs for defined occupations by state and
locality; 6) will be able to create and track individual client files
(name, address, case number) and thus build a database of PASS
participants by site for export to capture PASS data nationwide; and 7)
will permit customization of data fields/labels for the collection of
SSA specific management information (MI). VERTEK's OASYS JOB MATCH for
Windows software is the only known software product that meets all of
SSA's minimum requirements as stated herein. This is not a request for
quotations or an announcement of a forthcoming solicitation. Requests
for copies of a solicitation in response hereto will not be honored or
acknowledged. The Government does not intend to pay for information
provided in response to this publication. Any responsible firm that
feels it has the capability to provide an equivalent software product
shall provide a quotation, and technical literature substantiating that
the offered product meets all of the aforementioned requirements, to
SSA no later than 10 calendar days after the issue date of this
announcement. When responding to this announcement, respondents should
