70 -- HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE MAINTENANCE POC Donald T. Bolster 7500 Security Blvd., Baltimore Maryland 21244-1850 Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA) intends to extend its hardware and software maintenance support contract, 500-93-0005, for two (2) years which includes proptietary diagnostic software on its Government owned Storage Technology Corporation (STK) Automated Cartridge System (ACS). The equipment supports all tape processing requirements for HCFA's IBM 9021 and 9672 large scale mainframe computer systems. The ACS consists of eight (8) Powderhorn 6000 Cartridge units with eight (8) Powderhorn Library Control units; twenty seven (27) Timberline Cartridge Subsystems and associated features and equipment (channels, pass thru ports, Escon adapters, overhead display units). The hardware and software is located at the HCFA Data Center, Baltimore, Md. Vendors who believe they can furnish the required hardware and software maintenance and fully meet the government's requirements at a cost lower than STK costs are invited to submit a written substantive statement clearly specifying their ability to meet the requirements. Responses must specifically identify products and services being offered. Responses must indicate whether offering is available under GSA schedule, and if so include a copy of the applicable schedule. If not available under schedule, the response must provide sufficient costing information to permit comparison with the STK products. All costs must be identified. Responses which merely offer a solution to meet the government's requirements without addressing respondents capability to meet each of the identified requirements will be considered invalid responses. Vendors who submit responses which meet all requirements of this notice will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the FAR. If no responses are received which meet the requirements at a lower cost to the government, an order will be placed with the STK.
