This synopsis is to announce FISC San Diego's intent to issue a solicitation on an unrestricted basis for the Lease/Rental of lodging for use by Puget Sound Naval Shipyard personnel while on temporary duty to San Diego, CA. Request for proposals, with detailed statement of work, will be made available to responsible offerors on 05 March 1998, reference # N00244-98-Q-0135. The expected period of performance is for August 1998 through April 1999. Quantities listed herein are estimates only; the Government will pay only for rooms actually used. Dates are approximate and could fluctuate by as much as ten (10) days either way. Multiple awards for this action are anticipated. The anticipated dates and number of rooms are as follows: August 3rd through August 16th, 1998 -- 160 units; August 17th through August 30th, 1998 -- 270 units; September 1998 -- 450 units; October 1998 -- 800 units; November 1998 -- 850 units; December 1998 -- 600 units; January 1999 -- 370 units; February 1999— 550 units; March 1999 -- 400 units; April 1999 -- 165 units. Units are requested to be furnished one bedroom, with a minimum living area of 350 square feet (excluding bathroom). Facilities must be within a 20 mile radius of the front entrances to San Diego's Navy Bases (32nd St. Naval Station, Submarine Base Point Loma, NAS Coronado). Facilities must have maid/housekeeping services, and on-site laundry available within the complex. Phone and mail services must be available.
