This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation. Bids are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation M67400-98-B-A003 is issued as an Invitation for Bid (IFB). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-03. DESCRIPTION OF REQUIREMENTS FOR ITEMS TO BE ACQUIRED: CLIN 0001: 3000 FT, Cable, 1800 pair exchange, cable must be continuous and on 3 ('1000) reels. CLIN 0002: 2000 FT, Cable, 1500 pair exchange. Cable must be continuous and on 2 ('1000) cable reels. CLIN 0003: 3000 FT, Cable, 1200 pair exchange. Cable must be continuous and on 2 ('1500) cable reels. CLIN 0004: 3000 FT, 900 pair exchange. Cable must be continuous and on 2 ('1500) cable reel. ADDITIONAL DESCRIPTION FOR CLINS 0001-0005: Cable for direct burial or duct use; Rural Electrification Administration (REA) PE-89, 24 AWG Copper solid annealed bare copper conductors; conductor insulation is to be foamed polyeolefin with a solid skin of the same material, skin color is to be coded to telephone industry standards; insulated conductors are to be twisted into pairs; the cable core is to be filled with a water proofing compound and wrapped with a non-hygroscopic core tape. Only new material is to be acquired by this solicitation. DELIVERY: Items shall be delivered FOB destination to Lathrop California, however, final Inspection/Acceptance will be made by A/CS G-6, Bldg 5715, Camp Foster, Unit 35001, Okinawa, Japan. Desired delivery to Lathrop, California, (45) days after notification of award. Required delivery is to Lathrop, California, (60) days after notification of award. Final marking instructions will be provided at the time of award. The offeror is required to submit a completed copy of the provision at FAR 52.212-3, Offeror Representationsand Certifications -- Commercial Items (JAN 1997), with its offer. FAR 52.212-2, Evaluation -- Commercial Items is not applicable, however, award will be based on price.
