59 -- SPECIAL PURPOSE CABLE ASSEMBLIES FOR THE F-18 AIRCRAFT SOL N68335-98-R-0093 POC Kathleen Kiley-DiPietro, Contract Specialist, (732) 323-5197 NAWCADLKE intends to place a Delivery Order under an existing Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) with McDonnell Douglas Corporation a Wholly Owned Subsidiary of Boeing for Special Purpose Cable Assemblies for the F-18 Aircraft. The acquisition is for supplies for which the Government does not own specifications or complete drawings. McDonnell Douglas Corporation is the only known source with the knowledge, experience and technical data required to perform this effort. This requirement is for 71 Special Purpose Cable Assemblies, P/N 74D140201-1001, that consist of four feet of braided wire, bundled, with four connectors at each end and an overall covering, and 71 Special Cable Assemblies. P/N 74D140402-1001, consists of four feet of braided wire, bundled, with three connectors at each end and an overall covering. Cable Assembly P/N 74D140201-1001 is used in conjunction with cable assembly P/N 74D140202-1001 as a means to provide the necessary electrical interface between the aircraft wiring and the No. 8 circuit breaker/relay panel to allow adjustment of the dimension between the actuator/sensor assembly attach point and the end of the feel cartridge (several adjustments may be necessary) and to eliminate the need to install the panel after each adjustment in order to operate the trim switch on the aircraft controller grip assembly that runs the actuator sensor assembly. Firms that recognize and produce the required items are encouraged to identify themselves. All responsible sources may submit a proposal, which may be considered by the Government in determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based on the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. See Note 22 (0050)
