N/A This is a notification of intent to convene an Acquisition Strategy Conference 25-26 Mar 98 for the purpose of inviting industry participation/comments on an anticipated acquisition of an Avionics Modernization Program for the C-130 Aircraft. Requirement is for development, integration, testing of acft avionics for C-130E, C-130H and specialty models. Implementation intended to meet Global Air Traffic Management (GATM) requirements for navigation accuracy/redundancy. Modification requirement to include: design/modification, software development/modification, system(s) integration, trial installation and testing of C-130 acft. Every effort shall be made to maximize use of Commercial, Off-the-Shelf and Non-Developmental Items. Modifications/Installations included: Replacement of Self-Contained Navigation System by a new Flight Management System with four dimensional navigation and Enhanced Ground Collision Avoidance System (EGCAS) functions; installation of heads up displays (HUD) for both pilots, a massmemory unit, and means to display topographical map from a plan to the perspective view; design, integration and testing of cockpit system displays and lay-out allowing optimal man-machine interfaces. It is anticipated that the acquisition will be full and open competition. Conference will convene 0830 25 Mar 98 at the Base Theatre (Bldg 909), Robins AFB GA. In addition to group discussions, interested parties will be afforded an opportunity for a one-on-one meeting with Government Program Team. One-on-one meetings will be scheduled in the order the request is received. Attendance does not guarantee that any offeror will be considered for award when solicitation results. Accordingly, the government is under no obligation to reimburse any source for attendance at the conference or for any bid/proposal costs incurred in preparation of same.
