This equipment must be able to range hard targets from 50 meters to 8,000 meters. Hardware requirements shall be met with handheld equipment capable of measuring the distance to cloud base when pointed in the vertical position provided that the clouds are dense enough to enable a reading. The laser rangefinder must come complete with carrying case to facilitate ease of transportability. The unit should also provide a digital readout of range in either meters or feet. It shall come complete with a battery and an extra set of batteries. The unit shall be capable of performing at least 600 separate measurements on a single set of batteries or a single battery charge operation. Demonstration may be required. NOTE: when quoting on an equal rangefinder, descriptive literature must accompany the bid to enable the government to evaluate bids. Units must provide commercial warranty.
