Parker, Contract Specialist, HAM-40G, (202)366-6014 The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) plans to negotiate with the University of Colorado at Denver (UCD) to develop a testing procedure to determine the performance of a particular Reinforced Soil (RS) composite in an effort to make the design of RS structures more efficient and reliable. The test method will measure all aspects of reinforced soil interaction. The project will result in the development of a performance test method to measure the behavior of a particular reinforced soil composite mass. The University of Colorado at Denver is uniquely qualified because they have worked on several recent GRS projects and plan to apply the research findings to develop the proposed test method. UCD also has world experts in the testing of reinforced soils. This is a Simplified Acquisition and the anticipated award date is on or about 03/20/98. (0048)
