Tennant, Jr., Contracting Officer The U.S. Department of Commerce, NOAA has a requirement for reconditioned VIZ 1492-540 and VIZ 1492-520 radiosondes. The quantity to be reconditioned will be in the range of 4,500 to 7,500 radiosondes. Deliveries of these reconditioned radiosondes will commence in April 1998. NOAA intends to negotiate with VIZ Meteorological Systems Group, Ocean Systems Division, Sippican, Inc. of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for this requirement. VIZ is the designer, developer and sole manufacturer of the 1492-540 and 1492-520 radiosonde models and is the only known source capable of reconditioning these radiosonde models.
