The Drug Enforcement Administration has a requirement for .40 caliber semiautomatic pistols for Special Agents to be used in law enforcement duties and in training. It is anticipated that this acquisition will be performed as a best value procurement using commercial item procedures. Therefore, parties who may be interested in this acquisition are encouraged to submit commercial practices for: delivery, warranty procedures and conditions, optional equipment items, and information concerning objective methods of grading and evaluating semiautomatic pistols. If an industry rating has been established to measure accuracy, endurance, or non-misfiring capabilities for firearms; that information would also be helpful in developing the solicitation document. The DEA uses federal .40 S&W 165 grain Hydra-Shok jacketed hollow point P40HS3G acquired in the resulting acquisition will be concealed under plain clotes for extended periods of time in adverse conditions or carried in a holster.
