This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for a commercial item prepared in accordance with format in FAR subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation. Quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This document is issued as a request for quote, an incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-3. Procurement is 100% set-aside for small business; SIC Code is 3663; size standard 750 employees. SPECIFICATIONS: A microwave source that will cover the 400 to 1000 MHz portion of the spectrum is required for research projects at the Naval Research Institute Detachment, Brooks AFB. The source should be self-contained, air-cooled, broadband and completely operate as a solid-state amplifier providing instantaneous bandwidth with high gain. A minimum of 1000 watts output power is required across the spectrum covered. Minimum required specifications: Flatness: +/- 1.5dB at 1.0 milliwatt input; +/- 0.5 dB internal leveling. Frequency response: 400-1000 MHz instantaneously (minimum coverage). Gain: 60 dB minimum. Input and output impedance: 50 ohms, VSWR 2.0:1 maximum. Harmonic distortion: Minus 20 dBc maximum at 1000 watts. Primary power: 200/240 VAC, Delta connected; 360/435 VAC WYE connected; 50/60 Hz, 3 phase; 12 KVA maximum. Cooling: Forced air. Delivery: To Brooks AFB 120 Days ARO. FOB: Destination. Include warranty information. The provision at 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors, applies to this acquisition.
