The Government intends to purchase on a sole source basis the following annual software support for items manufactured and provided only by Green Hills Software Inc. The Government requires the annual software support to be completely consistent and compatible with the existing Government environment. The items are (1) P/N GA95XMVPPC, twelve months maintenance and technical support for Green Hills AdaMULTI Software Development Environment and PowerPC family optimizing Ada 95 cross compiler targeting embedded PowerPC under Tornado/VxWorks, includes support for specialized needs annex C and D (16 each); (2) P/N GCPPC, twelve months maintenance and technical support for Green Hills Power PC family optimizing C cross compiler targeting embedded PowerPC under Tornado/VxWorks (8 each); (3) P/N GA95SPC2N, twelve months maintenance and technical support for Green Hills SPARC family optimizing Ada 95 Native compiler targeting SPARC under Solaris 2.x, includes support for specialized needs annex C and D (8 each); (4) P/N GCSPC2N, twelve months maintenance and technical support for Green Hills SPARC family optimizing C Native compiler targeting SPARC under Solaris 2.x (8 each). The period of performance shall be from 01 March 1998 thru 28 February 1999 and shall include new versions of software and documentation updates when available, bug fixes when possible, and Green Hills technical support by telephone. All of the above shall be Y2K compliant and all responsible parties must provide written verification of this. Green Hills Software Inc. is the proprietary and only known source to provide this software support. This support is required to be compatible with existing hardware platforms such as a SPARC SUN Workstation running under Solaris 2.5.1 (SUN OS) and the PowerPC Single Board Computer (SBC) running VxWorks (real Time Operating System). The continuing investment in this off-the-shelf Multi Software application tool further strengthens the MK160 GCS upgrade's application development and the related training efforts ensuring long term product-line compatibility and upgrade ease. Green Hills Software Inc. is the only commercial vendor identified that support Solaris 2.x operating system target software in the VxWorks tactical operating system on the Motorola PowerPC. Award is to be made utilizing Simplified Acquisition Procedures.
