Gray, debora.s.gray@usace.army.mil. The work consists of the beach nourishment of the Sandbridge Beach, Virginia Beach, VA. The length of the project to be nourished is 4.8 miles. The beach berm to be constructed will have a width approximately 35 to 50 feet at a height of 6 feet NGVD with a foreshore slope of 1 vertical on 20 horizontal. Approximately 1.3 to 1.5 million cubic yards of sand will be placed on the beach. The borrow area for this project is located offshore approximately 3 to 5 miles east of Sandbridge Beach. Protection of the environment is of paramount importance. Dredging operation will have to be carried out in accordance with permit requirements. It is anticipated that this project may be constructed during turtle nesting season and precautions will have to be taken. Magnitude of project is estimated between $5,000,000.00 and $10,000,000.00.
