The work involves the abatement of asbestos-containing materials (ACM) from mechanical equipment, including pipes (insulation and/or joint compound), tanks, flues, pumps, strainers, fittings, and valves in the Mechanical Rooms of ten buildings at the Turner Job Corps Center, Albany, Georgia. The ACM abatement work in one of the ten buildings extends beyond the Mechanical Room above classrooms and corridor ceilings. Existing damaged and/or deteriorated non-ACM insulation in the same ten (10) buildings' Mechanical Rooms is to be replaced with new insulation. ACM abatement, insulation and reinsulation in two of the ten buildings' Mechanical Rooms will be bid as add-alternates. The construction completion date is estimated to be 154 calendar days from Notice to Proceed. The estimated cost range for construction is $100,000.00 to $250,000.00. Plans and Specifications will be available on or about March 3, 1998, only from the Architect/Engineering Firm of Yeilding & Wakeford, AIA, 116 Roosevelt Avenue, Suite 200, Albany, Georgia 31702. It is emphasized that requsts for Plans and Specifications should be directed to the A/E firm listed above to ensure proper handling of requests. Requests must be in writing. Plans and Specifications will be made available for pick-up at the A/E's office, or may be arranged for delivery at an addtional charge. Any additional shipping and/or handling charges must be pre-paid, and COD requests will not be accepted. Requests will be answered on a first-come, first-serve basis until supplies are exhausted, the Contracting Officer may determine whether or not payment of a fee is warranted. The non-refundable fee shall not exceed actual cost of duplication of the IFB documents, plus COD charges. A Pre-Bid Walk-Thru is scheduled for March 24, 1998, at 1:00 P.M. local time at the Turner Job Corps Center in Albany, Georgia. Bid Opening Date (BOD) is scheduled for April 9, 1998, at 11:00 A.M. local time at the office of the Architect/Engineering firm stated above. This is a 100% Small Business Set-Aside.
