The work involves the general renovation and HVAC upgrade to a 12,000 square foot three story dormitory building that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The new work includes installation of a new HVAC system including electrical, piping and duct work upgrades, roof replacement, fan coil units, rooftop and condenser units, miscellaneous repairs, and the installation of new lighting, ceiling and wall finishes, and painting. In addition, renovations to the shower and toilet rooms in two adjacent dormitories is also a part of this contract. This modernization work includes adding showers, ceramic tile, ceilings, and toilet partitions. The construction completion date is estimated to be 224 calendar days from Notice to Proceed. The estimated cost range for construction is $500,000 to $1 Million. Plans and Specifications will be available on or about February 24, 1998 only from the Architect/Engineering firm of Potter and Cox Architects, Suite 800 Meidinger Tower, Louisville, Kentucky 40202. It is emphasized that requests for Plans and Specifications should be directed to the A/E firm listed above to ensure proper handling of requests. Requests must be in writing. Plans and Specifications will be made available for pick-up at the A/E's office, or may be arranged for delivery at an additional charge. Any additional shipping and/or handling charges must be pre-paid, and COD requests will not be accepted. Requests will be answered on a first-come, first-serve basis until supplies are exhausted, the Contracting Officer may determine whether or not payment of a fee is warranted. This non-refundable fee shall not exceed the actual cost of duplication of the IFB documents, plus COD charges. A Pre-Bid Walk-Thru is scheduled for March 12, 1998, at 10:00 A.M. local time at the Whitney Young Job Corps Center in Simpsonville, Kentucky. Bid Opening Date (BOD) is scheduled for April 2, 1998, at 2:00 P.M. local time at the office of the Architect/Engineering firm as stated above. This is a 100% Small Business Set-Aside.
