The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) is seeking proposals for RFP-6054- Contract 1Z6054, design, fabrication, installation and testing of 19 heavy duty escalators in five metrorail passenger stations on the Outer-F Route to Branch Avenue. This request for proposal is the first of two steps sealed bidding process. Step one consists of request for, submission of, evaluation of, and (if necessary) discussion of a technical proposal. No pricing is involved. Estimated cost range is $7,000,000 to $12,000,000. Technical Proposals (Step One) will be received o/a February 23, 1998. Step Two involves the issuance of an IFB and submission of sealed bids by those proposers who submitted acceptable technical proposals in Step One. Bids will be opened (Step Two) o/a May 6, 1998 Work to be completed by December 15, 2000. DBE goal is 21% of the bid amount.
