CONTACT WILL NOT BE GIVEN AND NO APPOINTMENTS FOR PRESENTATIONS WILL BE
MADE. The U.S. Navy is seeking sources for hull drainage technologies
or oil recyclers. Amphibious military vehicles have mixed within their
armored hulls used engine coolant, used hydraulic oil, used fuel oil,
used motor oil and used transmission oil. Because this mixture
contains ethylene glycol when drained from the armored hulls, the hull
drainage is hazardous waste. For most of the local economies
surrounding many military bases where these amphibious vehicles are
based this wastestream is not recyclable and very expensive to
landfill. The U. S. Navy is interested in any available off the shelf
technologies that can reduce the cost of handling this hazardous waste
such as technologies that can remove ethylene glycol from oil or oil
recyclers that can accept oil contaminated with ethylene glycol.
Interested vendors/manufacturers should send a letter of interest and
capabilities with pertinent brochures and descriptive literature that
completely describes their product capabilities to fulfill the above
requirement to DEPARTMENT OF THE NAVY, CBC CODE 27165, BLDG. 41, 1000
23RD AVENUE, PORT HUENEME, CA 93043-4301. Deadline for receiving
information is February 27, 1998. (0036) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0038 19980209\F-0006.SOL)
