COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF FEBRUARY 4,1998 PSA#2025

U.S. DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE CATALOG SHOWCASE: POZNAN, POLAND, APRIL 21-24, 1998 The U.S. Department of Commerce invites U.S. companies to participate in the "USA Computer Technology Showcase" at the Infosystem '98 computer show in Poznan, Poland. This show is the largest information technology show in Poland, covering computer hardware, software, telecommunications, multimedia, electronic components, office technology, and publishing. Poland is one of the fastest growing and most stable economies in Eastern Europe with an estimated $1.4 billion computer and software market in 1997 that is forecasted to grow faster than global averages into the next decade. Over 480,000 PCs were sold in 1996, packaged software sales surpassed $140 million, and fast growing spending on IT services approached $200 million. Poland is the region's second largest IT market and ranks among the top 40 worldwide. With less than 1% of its GDP spent on the IT sector, the country shows plenty of potential, as its industries and institutions modernize and computerize. Poland has also signed the global Information Technology Agreement to eliminate tariffs on IT products by the year 2000. If you cannot attend this show, we can represent you. The "USA Computer Technology Showcase" provides U.S. companies with a cost-effective way to introduce products and services to potential agents, distributors, partners and buyers in Poland and other parts of Central and Eastern Europe. Our concept of combining a traditional catalog show format with on-site software and video presentations has been successful in computer exhibitions around the world and has proven to be an effective way to identify market reps, collect sales leads, obtain product exposure, and test markets. For a fee of $495 we will: (1) display your product literature at the USA Showcase; (2) distribute your brochures to potential representatives and customers; (3) show your software demos and company videos; (4) identify and provide information on qualified foreign companies and business contacts interested in your product or service; (5) list your company as a show participant on our Web Page. THE DEADLINE IS APRIL 6, 1998, SO SIGN UP TODAY! FOR MORE INFORMATION OR TO RECEIVE A PARTICIPATION KIT, CONTACT: (1) Judy Fogg, 202-482-4936/tel, judy_fogg@ita.doc.gov (2) R.
