Gaithersburg, MD 20899-0001 NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING: The NIST Advanced
Technology Program (ATP) is announcing a public meeting (Proposers'
Conference) for all interested parties related to the following five
ATP focused program competitions previously announced for fiscal year
1998: 98-02, Photonics Manufacturing; 98-03, Premium Power; 98-04,
Digital Video in Information Networks; 98-06, Microelectronics
Manufacturing Infrastructure (MMI); and 98-09, Adaptive Learning
Systems. The public meeting for potential proposers and other
interested parties will be held on Thursday, February 19, 1998, at the
San Jose Hilton, 300 Almaden Boulevard, San Jose, CA 95110,
408-287-2100. The conference will begin at 9:30 a.m. local time and end
at approximately 3:00 p.m. This meeting will provide general
information regarding the ATP, tips on preparing good proposals, and an
opportunity for audience questions on the scope, technical, and
business goals of each of the five focused program competitions noted
above. Attendance at this public meeting is not required. No
registration fee will be charged. To register for this public meeting
or for further information, contact ATP as noted below. ATP previously
announced in the Commerce Business Daily (CBD) specific information on
each of these five focused program competitions. This information
included the program scope, due dates of pre-proposals and full
proposals, instructions for proposal submission, where to submit
proposals, how to obtain the ATP Proposal Preparation Kit dated
December 1997 and the focused program booklets, etc. This information
