In accordance with the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Acquisition Management System (AMS), industry is hereby informed that the FAA announces a requirement for technical support services. The services are to provide the Computer Based Instruction (CBI) system and communications activities for FAA facilities, national CBI sites and the Academy Division of the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center (MMAC) located in Oklahoma City, OK. Contractor shall provide full-time and on-call support for the use and operation of two (2) mainframes, associated operating systems and software. The Screening Information Request (SIR) is intended to be placed on the internet by February 13, 1998. In order to be considered for the effort, the offeror must have specific knowledge of operating systems, communications software, personal computers, CBI platforms and configurations, CDC front end processors, servers, applications software and the ability to modify or change software associated with the FAA CBI equipment and software. The planned Statement of Work is for purchase by labor category, services for approximately 3360 hours, under the authority of AMS, Section 3.2.2.3, Complex and Noncommercial Source Selection. The solicitation will be limited to ELIGIBLE VERY SMALL BUSINESS as defined in AMS policy 3.6.1-2, who are also, ELIGIBLE SOCIALLY AND ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED BUSINESS (SEDB) CONCERNS. As used herein, an "eligible SEDB" concern is a small business concern expressly certified by the Small Business Administration (SBA) for participation in the SBA's 8(a) program as set forth in the AMS policy 3.6.1-8. Offerors must qualify under the SEDB program at the time submissions to the SIR are due. The SIC Code is 7373. The Contract is intended to be a labor-hour type with the period of performance terminating on or before September 30, 1999. The Government intends to award a single contract for this procurement. The SIR will further define the terms and conditions of the procurement. Your written response should also include a copy of your SBA Certification for the SIC code listed above. Once the SIR is posted, initially attempt to download the solicitation from the Internet.
