The US Army TACOM-ARDEC, Picatinny Arsenal intends to acquire under the authority of 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source, a production effort for the AT Lens Assembly, BPRM and HED Battery for the M87A1 VOLCANO Canister Assembly. This requirement is for a follow-on contract to an existing contract for an estimated quantity of 30,000 units with an option for 6,000 units. The Government intends to utilize Alliant Techsystems Inc. located in Hopkins, MN in a new contractual action. The new effort is expected to be awarded in FY98. See Numbered Note 22 and Note 26.
