Y -- RENOVATION OF THE U.S. BOTANIC GARDEN CONSERVATORY SOL RFP No. 9817 DUE 033198 POC Contact Procurement Division, (202) 226-2557 The Architect of the Capitol (AOC) is seeking to establish a list of responsible Contractors to solicit for a project, "Renovation of the U.S. Botanic Garden Conservatory," Request for Proposals (RFP) No. 9817. The U.S. Botanic Garden Conservatory is located at 100 Maryland Avenue, S.E., Washington, D.C. 20515. To be included on the list and to be provided a copy of the RFP No. 9817, interested firms must provide a written request to: Architect of the Capitol, Procurement Division, 2nd & D Streets, S.W., Washington, D.C. 20515. Requests must include company name, contact name, address, telephone number and facsimile number. In developing its list of responsible offerors, the AOC intends to establish each offeror's ability to obtain performance and payment bonds. It is estimated that the value of the work to be performed for the project will exceed $20 million. To obtain a copy of the RFP, firms must provide with their requests, certifications from their sureties that the latter will issue to the offeror a performance bond in the amount of at least $20 million and a payment bond in the amount of $2.5 million for the work. The renovation project will include several areas of specialized work such as: landscape, landscape exhibitor, glass house, glass house controls, electrical and mechanical. Written requests, together with required information concerning ability to obtain performance and payment bonds may be sent via facsimile to 202/225-3221, not later than 1:00 p.m., February 28, 1998. It is anticipated that the RFP will be released on or about March 31, 1998. (0030)
