Y -- POTABLE WATER PRODUCTION AND STORAGE SYSTEM, EIELSON AFB, ALASKA POC Gail M West, 907/753-2552/Contracting Officer, Corps of Engineers Under the authority of FAR 6.302, the Alaska District Corps of Engineers intends to specify proprietary and/or sole source equipment for the Eielson Water Treatment Plant. A new filtration system was recently installed which utilized Hungerford and Terry Greensand Filters. To be compatible with the new system the government intends to install two additional Hungerford and Terry Greensand Filters. Each Greensand Filter (Make and Model to be listed in Specifications) must have a 12" Butterfly Valve with Electric Actuator on raw water line, a 12" Butterfly Valve with Electric Actuator on backwash supply line, a 12 " Butterfly Valve with Electric Actuator on backwash effluent line, a 6" Butterfly Valve with Electric Actuator on treated water outflow line and three, 4" Butterfly Valves with Electric Actuators on compressed air backwash lines, flow measuring orifice plate in 6" treated water outflow line, pressure sensor systems, pipe and filters insulation. The following Electrical Items must be specified to ensure that the new control systems are compatible with existing control systems: Allen Bradley SLC programmable logic controllers, Allen Bradley motor starters. This brand/model is required to insure proper communications with the existing Allen Bradley Control system, Three proprietary communication protocols will be required; Devicenet, Remote I/O and Data Hi-way Plus. These are the types of communication methods used by the existing Control System. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement in the form of a letter. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all submittals received within 45 days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete the system requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whetherto compete the requirement. See Number Note 22. (0029)
