R -- EDUCATIONAL SERVICES DUE 030198 POC Mr. Daniels 703/696-3843 ext 1409 The Department of Defense Education Activity, Domestic Dependent Elementary and Secondary Schools, intends to negotiate and award a sole source contract to the Caesar Rodney School District, Camden-Wyoming, DE to provide all personnel, equipment, services and materials necessary to provide comprehensive education services (kindergarten through grade 12) for eligible children of Department of Defense employees living on Dover AFB, DE. Services shall be performed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware as well as all applicable United States of America Public Laws. The contractor shall be licensed by the State of Delaware Secretary of Education to operate grades K-12 within the State. The contractor shall ensure that the education provided is comparable to that provided by local public education agencies in similar communities with the State of Delaware. This education shall be consistent not only with the requirements of the law but also with statewide goals, initiatives, and standards which may be periodically revised by the State of Delaware Board of Education. The contractor shall provide for extra-curricular activities (to include gifted/talented, remedial and intramural sports programs) and special education needs of all eligible students and shall do so in a manner comparable to that provided by local public education agencies in similar communities within the State of Delaware. The contractor shall operate schools on base for grades K-8 and provide busing for grades 9-12 to a school off base.
