Smith, Contracting Officer, (970) 248-6034 The Department of Energy is requesting sources interested in obtaining a copy of a solicitation that will be issued to provide services for a comprehensive "Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Barriers analysis of the Department of Energy Grand Junction Office's available facilities and the transition of these facilities to other uses. The Grand Junction Office is located in Grand Junction, Colorado approximately 250 miles west of Denver, Colorado. The analysis will involve (1) defining the real property existing at the Grand Junction Office (land, buildings, and infrastructure) by its physical description and market value, including structural or environmental limitations; (2) looking at economic environmental and demographics of the Grand Junction area (i.e. business start-ups and expansions, past/present/future demographics); (3) assessing the feasibility of using Grand Junction facilities (all or part) to promote business endeavors which build on the existing capabilities and expertise; and (4) identifying the steps necessary to implement a transition to the desired use.
