The University of California, which operates the Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) under contract to the Department of Energy, solicits interest from companies wishing to license, develop and market Hybrid Densitometry software which measures the plutonium or uranium concentrations or both in solution. It can measure solutions from approximately 1Og/l to 350g/l and analyzes data from two detectors (K-edge densitometer (KED) and x-ray fluorescence (XRF)). The concentration of the dominant element in special nuclear material (SNM) can be determined. If the solution contains two types of SNMs with concentration ratios less than 8, then the method can determine the concentrations of both elements.
