59 -- ELECTRICAL OPTICAL TEST SET SUPPORT EQUIPMENT SOL N68335-95-G-0087 / 0006 DUE 022798 POC Michael B Palaia (732) 323-2418 Peculiar Support Equipment (PSE) for the F18 aircraft, consisting of the following items: LPS Test Fixture, P/N 74D740177-2101, 2 ea., LPS Cable Set, 74D40177-2501, 2 ea., ACP Test Fixture, 74D740282-2101, 2 ea., and Gimbal Position Tool, 74D40172-2901. This acquisition if for supplies for which the Government does not own specifications or drawings to permit full and open competition. The Government intends to procure these items under Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA), N68335-95-G-0087, pursuant to the authority of U.S.C. 2304(c) (1), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1. Boeing Aircraft Co., St Louis, Mo., as the designer, developer and sole manufacturer of this equipment, is the only source with the knowledge, experience and technical data necessary for the manufacturer and the design/application of this requirement. The U.S. Navy is anticipating a Firm Fixed Price type contract. Firms that recognize and can possibility produce these items are encouraged to identify themselves. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which may be considered by the Government in determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination based on the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Request for quote is projected by March 1998 or sooner with the issuance of a BOA order approximately 30 days thereafter.
