Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) has a requirement for continued
research and development (Phase 3) of Synthetic Aperture Sonar (SAS)
technology for hunting sea mines. This solicitation will be negotiated
on a sole source basis with Dynamics Technology Incorporated (DTI) of
Torrance, California who began the processor and algorithm development
of SAS technology under contract N00014-94-C-0256 and is the only
source with the requisite knowledge and background to complete the
effort in the time frame required. (DTI partnered with Hughes Aircraft
Company Naval and Marine Systems, formerly Alliant Techsystems
Incorporated, of Mukilteo, Washington who began the hardware
development of SAS technology under contract N00014-95-C-0022). See
