B -- BASE WIDE CULTURAL RESOURCE EVALUATION SERVICES AT VARIOUS SITES LOCATED ON MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON, SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CALIFORNIA SOL N68711-97-Q-8829 DUE 091897 POC Len Brown, Contract Specialist, (619) 532-1266; Connie Ward, Contracting Officer The Southwest Division, Naval Facilities Engineering Command intends to award a contract, on a sole source basis, in accordance with Simplified Acquisition Procedures the aggregate amount of which will not exceed $100,000.00, for cultural resources evaluation services at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, San Diego County, California to ASM Affiliates, Encinitas, California. The statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition is 10 U.S.C.2304(c)(1), as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation, Part 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency's requirements. Successful completion of this contract is dependent upon access to archeological data which at this time is available only to ASM Affiliates. It is the Government's position that award to any other source would result in substantial duplication of cost to the Government that is not expected to be recovered through competition and/or unacceptable delays in fulfilling the agency's requirement. Therefore, no other offers will be accepted. The contract duration is approximately 365 days. (0254)
