59 -- COUNTERWEIGHT SOL NWWG4200700532JAS DUE 090297 POC Jackie Shewmaker 816-426-7129, ext. 221 SOURCES SOUGHT: The U.S. Department of Commerce, NOAA, National Weather Service, intends to issue a contract to Comsat RSI Electromechanical Systems in Largo, Florida, for the manufacture of two types of counterweights for the NEXRAD program. The Government is requesting 6 counterweights -- LPP; CAGE 26795 and 356 counterweights -- FSP, CAGE 1M813. The National Weather Service is now implementing a modification of its NEXRAD radar to install antenna ladder assemblies network-wide requiring counterbalancing using weights on the radar pedestal assembly. The Government intends to solicit to only one source under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1). This is not a call for proposals. Interested parties are encouraged to respond to this announcement within 15 days of its publication and shall submit in writing, its name, address, point of contact, telephone number, business size and a brief statement regarding its capability to provide the specified supply and the names, telephone numbers, and points of contact for businesses or other Government agencies to which it had previously provided similar supplies. No response will be provided to those inquiries which fail to provide the information requested. This information shall be submitted to the address stated herein or may be faxed to 816-426-7530. This is not a request for proposals and there is no Request for Quotation available at this time. A determination by the Government not to compete is solely within the discretion of the Government.
