The project consists of the design and construction of an expansion to the Mid Island, New York, Processing & Distribution Center, 160 Duryea Road, Melville, New York, of approximately 59,682 net square feet. Work includes but is not limited to, demolition, earthwork, site utilities and site improvements, paving, landscaping and irrigation. Work also includes concrete foundations and slab-on-grade, steel structure, steel joists and decking, roof membrane over roof insulation (to match existing), masonry, metal stud partitions, insulation, gypsum board walls and ceilings, acoustical ceilings, resilient flooring, carpeting, custom cabinets and fixtures, carpentry, painting, metal doors, metal frames, door hardware, sectional overhead doors, metal fabrications, signage, loading dock equipment, fire protection and detection systems, security systems, electrical, and heating, ventilating, and air conditioning complete and ready for use. Technical submittals will require evidence of (1) Experience; (2) Management Plan; (3) Financial Capability; and (4) Organization. Plans will be available June 27, 1997. Offers due August 5, 1997. Performance time is 180 calendar days from date of Notice to Proceed. The estimated cost range is between $3,500,000 and $4,000,000. A formal Preproposal Conference is scheduled for Thursday, July 10, 1997, 9:00 a.m., Room C. (use the entrance near the Flag Pole) at the facililty.
