The LME shall improve the Army's current field maintenance tent in the following areas: weight, erection/strike time, supportability, durability, storage life and mobility. The Government anticipates that this acquisition will result in the award of a Firm-Fixed-Price/Requirements contract, consisting of a Low Rate Initial Production (LRIP) basic ordering period with four optional ordering periods. The basic ordering period will consist of an anticipated quantity of 15 LME's and a maximum quantity of 100 LME's for First Article Inspection, Technical Testing, User Testing and Field Evaluation. Each optional ordering period will have an estimated quantity of 196 LME's and a maximum quantity of 250 LME's. This acquisition is a 100 percent small business set-aside and will be conducted as a best value procurement. The applicable Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code is 2394. The Request For Proposal (RFP) will be available on or about June 30,1997 with a closing date of August 01,1997. An Industry Pre- Proposal Conference is scheduled for July 08,1997 at 10:00am (EST) at the SSCOM, Building 36, Room E-110, Kansas Street, Natick, MA 01760-5011.
