The Naval Research Laboratory(NRL) conducts research and development on gyro-amplifiers. This includes exploratory research on gyro-klystrons, gyro-twystrons, and gyro-TWTs to assess their potential for coherent, broad band electromagnetic generation in millimeter wave at high, average, and peak power. Current research is focused on the study of efficient, high averaged and peak power compact gyro-amplifier devices capable of broad band operation. Contractor support is required for these investigations. Individual tasks are as follows: Task 1- Gyro-Amplifier Development; Task 2- Design of Experimental Vacuum Devises; Task 3- Hot Testing of Devices. The period of performance for the Base effort is 12 months with two(2) 12 month options.
