Jessen, Contracting Officer, (970) 490-7210 The Western Area Power Administration has a requirement for a Contractor to provide all the labor, materials, equipment, and other resources necessary to complete this project. The project involves and consists of modifications to existing entry and exit gates including: removal of existing gate motor-operators, card readers, telephones, wiring, conduit, panelboards and related items; modifications to chain link fence, vehicle island, yard lighting, buried and above ground electrical items; and installation of new overhead-rail type gates and operators. Sitework includes the following: saw-cutting and removing portions of an existing concrete vehicle island with curb & gutter; saw-cutting and removing portions of existing asphalt surfacing; removing existing equipment including gate motors, card readers, telephones, wiring, panelboards, etc; removing support structures, anchor bolts, conduit, etc. for existing equipment; excavating for concrete structures, trenches, and fence post foundations; providing new chain link fence with overhead support rail type gates and clearance signs; backfill and compaction for excavated utilities; and repairing asphalt surfacing. Concrete work includes; providing concrete for fence post foundations, slabs-on-grade, traffic island, fill for guard posts, and curb and gutters. It also includes gravel-fills for flatwork. Metalwork includes providing painted steel guard posts and a lighting unit standard to match existing facilities. Electrical items include: providing electrical panelboards, conduit, wiring, etc; providing new gate operators and controllers; providing outdoor lighting unit. This project is located in Larimer County, Colorado. The estimated order of magnitude of this project is between $ 25,000.00 and $ 100,000.00. The solicitation, specifications and drawings will be issued in hard copy FREE OF CHARGE. Note: In accordance with Western's Acquisition Handbook, "Western procurement officials shall limit availability of solicitations". Therefore, only A LIMITEDNUMBER of copies of this solicitation, will be available to be distributed by this office. Copies of this solicitation will be issued on a "first-come first-served bases". Additional copies of this solicitation will be available through various "plan holders rooms". All work for all of the Contract Line Item Numbers (CLIN) must be completed NLT within 60 calender days. Western issues a "Notice to Proceed". All the CLINs will be delivery FOB destination. There will be only one award made from this solicitation. Therefore, all Bidders must submit their bids on an "all or none basis". This solicitation will be issued on or about Mar. 14, 1997. The projected bid opening date is on or about Apr. 14, 1997.
