The Government intends to purchase on a sole source basis the following: Intelligent Interface Tap (IIT), p/n 1397E-IIT, 1 each; and an IIT shipping case, p/n IIT-CASE, 1 each. The above items are to support troubleshooting of Navy Tactical Data System (NTDS) Low Level Serial (LLS) interface problems. The IIT LLS analyzer provides a capability to passively monitor and record all NTDS LLS interface activity. This will allow the end user to pinpoint protocol errors, electrical problems and timing anomalies. In addition, the analyzer allows the user to troubleshooting computer programs that communicate over the LLS interface. Other characteristics of the IIT LLS analyzer are the abilities to detect the source of all signals, monitor the waveform, time tag every event, decode all control frames and information frames, touch screen display for all user interface and last but not least to define a trigger event. An IIT LLS analyzer are currently used in the AEGIS fleet to troubleshoot LLS interface problems.In order to effectively respond to fleet problems, the ACC must have the same make and model troubleshooting tools used in the fleet to reproduce problems. Award is to be made under Simplified Acquisition Procedures.
