The USDA intends to add to its existing contract, 53-3142-3-1028, with Computer Associates the following software license and technical support: Impact 2000 MVS, Impact 2000 Workbench for Windows and Inventory 2000. The software is needed to keep existing CA applications functional after the Year 2000 turnover. The software will be used at the USDA National Finance Center in New Orleans, LA, and the USDA National Information Technology Center in Kansas City, MO. Rate of use is determined by MIPS. Alternative sources responding to this announcement may be considered non-responsive if they offer products not priced by MIPS or offer terms otherwise limiting USDA's use of software to process its own data and other Agencies data. The software will be installed on IBM-compatible, large scale, mainframe CPUs. USDA has the right to allow any authorized end-user to access and use applications designed, developed, maintained and operated using the software, operate and/or test at contingency cold- and hot-site facilities and use the products to run benchmarks on other computers. Interested parties may provide information on their capabilities to meet this requirement. In order to be evaluated, respondents must submit clear and convincing documentation. The documentation must include descriptive literature with sufficient technical information to substantiate the respondent's ability to meet USDA's needs and pricing.
