The U.S. Department of Labor/Employment and Training Administration is soliciting bids for the renovation of the dining facility, to include relocation of existing food service equipment, demolition and reinstallation of walls in the dish washing room, new lay in ceiling and lights in the dish washing area, and new flooring in the dish washing room. The work must be phased to allow operation of the dining facility during construction at the Tongue Point Job Corps Center. Construction time is scheduled for 42 days to substantial completion. The estimated cost range is from $100, 000 to $200,000. Plans and specifications will be available on January 29, 2997, ONLY from the Architect/Engineer, SERA, 123 N.W. It is emphasized that requests for plans and specification shall be directed to the A/E firm listed above to ensure proper handling of requests. All requests must be in writing. Requests will be answered on a first-come, first-serve basis until supplies are exhausted. For requests made after the supply is exhausted, the Contracting Officer may determine whether payment of a fee is warranted. The non-refundable fee shall not exceed the actual cost of duplication of the IFB documents, plus COD charges. A Pre-Bid walk through is scheduled for February 12, 1997, at 2:00 p.m., local time. The Bid Opening date is February 27, 1996, at 3:00 p.m., local time. This procurement is offered on an unrestricted basis (Full and Open Competition) and is subject to Public Law 95-507 and includes Clause Number 52.219-8, "Utilization of Small Business Concerns and Small Disadvantaged Business Concerns," and Clause Number 52.219-13, "Utilization of Women-Owned Small Businesses." The successful contractor shall assure that small business concerns, small disadvantaged business concerns, and women-owned businesses have the maximum practicable opportunity to participate in contract performance consistent with efficient performance of the contract.
