THIS IS A MARKET SURVEY ONLY -- NO SOLICITATION EXISTS. This market
survey is being conducted in order to determine the commercial
availability (or nondevelopmental items availability) of a computer
simulation model similar to the GLOBUS model currently used by the
National Ground Intelligene Center, Charlottesville, VA. GLOBUS is a
computer simulation model of many important macropolitical and
macroeconomic relationships within and among 33 prominent contemporary
nations, plus a rest-of-world entity. The variables in the
relationships are entered into the model for a baseline year. The
variables include a wide variety of open source indicators such as: GDP
growth rates, international trade, demographics growth, domestic
political participation, military spending, etc. The baseline data are
linked to each other, both within and between countries, using
ordinary differential equations and an integrating algorithm in a
fashion that mimics their relationships in the real world. The model
can then mathematically derive macroeconomic and macropolitical trends
on an annual bsis, out 40 years in the future, in either a static or
custom forecast. The static forecast is one which maintains all of the
variables in the baseline and simply manipulates the equations without
changing any of the assumptions. A custom forecast occurs when the
analyst alters one or more of the variables within one or more
countries to mathematically derive an "alternative" future. This allows
the analyst to change "assumptions" about the future and see
mathematically how changes on one or more of the variables impacts the
other variables and other countries. GLOBUS allows the analyst to
mathematically test his or her hypothesis on the impact of changing
variables in one or more countries. Please provde information on the
commercial items which would be sufficient to enable the government to
determine whether or not your product meets the government's needs.
Attach literature and specification information: (1) Is the item
customarily available in the commercial marketplace? (2) Does the item
require modification in order to meet the Government's requirement. If
so, provide your customary practices regarding customizing, modifying
or tailoring of items to meet the government's needs. (3) Is the item
used exclusively for government purposes? (4) Is the product a foreign
manufactured product? (5)Business size. (6) Provide a list of
potential suppliers. (7) Are the items available under existing
government contracts. (8) Best Price offered and ordering information.
Provide the information by 31 January 1997. THIS IS A MARKET SURVEY
