The Federal Bureau of Prisons is soliciting for Dental Hygenist services for the Federal Correctional Institution, 15801 S.W. 137th Ave., Miami, Florida. The work schedule will consist of five (5) sessions per week, each session will last six (6) hours, not to exceed thirty (30) hours per week. All sessions will be conducted from Monday through Friday. The contractor will be responsible for performing the following: dental prophylaxis, remove supragingival and subgingival calculus deposits and stains from teeth by scaling and root planning; application of topical fluorides; charting of existing conditions for diagnosis and treatment by a dentist; exposing and developing of dental x-ray films; taking primary impressions and pouring of study models; removing sutures and placing post-operative dressings; clinical services and health education designed to improve and maintain good oral health; sharpening of all peridontal instruments; finishing of amalgam restorations; mixing and placing temporary restorations; fabricating and finishing impression trays for final impressions; minor clerical duties such as filing and typing; maintaining adequate stock levels and maintaining current stock record cards.
